Handing over or granting rights to a mark
A trademark owner is free to transfer ownership of the mark to another party (an assignment) or to let another party use it under agreed terms (a license).
Registering the agreement locally
For most Central American countries, it is advisable to file the assignment or license agreement with the national trademark office. Doing so gives the arrangement legal certainty.
