Three routes to trademark protection in Europe
Europe gives you several ways to protect a trademark, depending on how many countries you need to cover:
- National registration: file directly in an individual European country.
- Regional registration through the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP): one filing covers Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
- European Union registration through the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO): one filing gives you protection across all EU member states.
