How trademark classes work
Most countries organize trademark filings under the Nice Classification system. It sorts every product and service into 45 classes: 34 cover goods and 11 cover services.
Why the class you pick matters
Protection applies to the classes you choose. Say you want to register "RackTacket Remote Rockets" for toys, rockets and rocket launchers. A similar name could still be available in unrelated classes, such as pharmaceuticals or leather goods. By filing in the toy and rocket classes rather than those other two, you are deciding where your mark is protected.
