Step 1: Find your class
Begin by working out which class your trademark belongs in. Enter your product or service in our Trademark Class Search tool, and it will point you to the right class or classes.
Step 2: Run the search
With your class(es) in hand, you can look for existing marks using our Trademark Search engine, or through the Trademark Office in your own country.
Try variations of your name
Don't stop at the exact spelling. Test alternative spellings and word combinations too. If your mark is AMAZON, for example, check AMASON and HAMAZON as well as other close variants.
Need a hand?
Searching properly can be complicated and take a lot of time. If you lack the time or experience, Marcaria.com offers a Trademark Study. It covers the classes you could register in, lists identical and similar trademarks, and adds an attorney's recommendation on your chances of registration and on how the trademark can be used.
