A trademark is a way for a business to set its products or services apart from those of its competitors. It can take many forms, including names, logos, designs, colors, and even sounds.
What registration gives you
When a trademark is registered, its owner gets the exclusive right to use it for specific products or services, within a defined area and for a set period of time.
Trademark symbols
- ® is used for registered trademarks.
- TM is used for trademarks that are not yet registered.
- SM is used for service marks that are in the process of being registered.
